New Term – New Menu

Members at the Embassy Youth Centre have expressed their wishes for a larger selection of hot food to be available in the evenings. Our new menu now includes toasties, pasta dishes and nacho’s. We are also starting a cooking project teaching members how to cook simple, nutritional meals from scratch from the vegetable peeling through to the dishing up, (and hopefully some clearing away.) Check back soon to see how the project goes.

Let the Demolition Begin

Let the Demolition Begin

Out with the old and in with the new is the motto this week at the Embassy Youth Centre. Work has commenced on the long overdue kitchen refit which has all been made possible with a grant from the Bournemouth Youth Opportunities Fund. A group of members had to compile a presentation which they performed in front of a panel of young people in order to secure £5000 for a new kitchen, gas stove, fridges and freezers. Anyone that has...

The Big Event

The Big Event

Tensions were high last Thursday at the Henry Brown Youth Centre as our girls prepared to strut their stuff down the catwalk in front of a sold out audience. The girls used their time wisely prior to the show to touch up their makeup, adjust their gowns and prepare themselves for the big moment. With their chosen theme of “sophistication,” the girls looked great and did the Embassy proud. It was hard to believe that all three outfits were bought and customised...

Give Or Take Day

Give Or Take Day

Give or Take Days are like a jumble sale but without the money! Local people bring along unwanted but usable items, other residents then have the chance to browse and take away items they do want. You don’t have to give anything to take something new away or vice versa. Ultimately the events encourage reuse of items that would have otherwise ended up in landfill. Donated items include kitchen gadgets, books, DVD, clothes, children’s toys, general bric-a-brac and many more....
